How many vinyl panels and posts
On a panel fence the posts are not spaced by choice: they stand a panel apart. A 6 by 8 foot vinyl privacy panel is about 91 inches wide between 5 inch posts, so the posts stand 96 inches on center. 100 feet of fence is 12½ panels, so 13 panels — the last one cut to fit — and 14 posts: 12 line posts and an end post at each end. Home Depot's fencing calculator, asked for the same 100 feet with no corners, prints 15 posts.
Each post is a 5 by 5 inch post 9 feet long: 72 inches stand above the ground and 36 go into it, in a 10 inch hole on 6 inches of gravel — the hole Freedom's and Veranda's instructions both give. Fourteen of them take 38 bags of fast-setting concrete, and 14 post caps.
Posts are routed for where they stand
A vinyl line post is routed through two faces for the rails of the panels either side; an end post on one face; a corner post on two faces at a right angle. A gate post is not routed at all, and takes an aluminum stiffener inside so the hinges have something to bite. Buy each kind for where it stands — the list counts them apart.
Before you order
Measure post to post along each run and let the page split it into panels. If a run is a few inches over a whole number of panels, moving an end post is cheaper than cutting a panel. Set the end posts first, string a line between them, and set the rest along it a panel apart. Vinyl gates usually come as a kit with hinges and a latch; untick those rows if yours does.
