About

This site works out how much material a job needs and turns that into a list you can hand over at a counter. One measurement goes in one box, in the notation a trade actually uses, and what comes out is a quantity in the unit the material is sold in.

What it does differently

  • One box per measurement. 12' 6 1/2" is one measurement, so it goes in one box. The line under the box says what was read before you trust it.
  • Every assumption is visible and editable. Density, coverage, bag yield, waste: each one sits under the answer with a note saying where it came from and a box you can type over.
  • The working is shown with your numbers in it, not a general formula.
  • Quantities are rounded to what a store sells, and the leftover is stated.
  • No account, no email, no postcode. Nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored.

What it does not do

It does not quote labour, it does not pass your details to contractors, and it does not replace a licensed trade or an engineer. For anything structural, electrical or load-bearing, the local authority having jurisdiction decides, not a calculator.
